Installation
Once you've decided to adopt or trial Remote Trainer, we'll coordinate with your IT department regarding product installation and other practical matters. Typically, the IT department initiates a trial of Remote Trainer, ensuring compatibility with their systems. Smaller businesses usually receive installation programs, instructions, and installation keys to install the software themselves.
Remote Trainer is installed using dedicated installation programs for Windows or Mac. It's installed on the professional's computer who will be using Remote Trainer. The Windows installation program also supports command-line installation, suitable for distribution systems used by large organizations.
Initial installation of Remote Trainer requires administrator rights, but most subsequent updates can be performed with basic user permissions. Updates can be customized according to your preferences. Remote Trainer includes an automatic update feature that keeps the product up-to-date with the latest version whenever available. We can also disable automatic updates, allowing manual updates by the IT department. Alternatively, updates can be postponed until the IT department tests and approves the new Remote Trainer version, after which the updated version can be made available for organization-wide installations.
Accessing and using Remote Trainer
Remote Trainer offers two usage modes: desktop and virtual camera mode. In virtual camera mode, the program functions like a regular webcam. It can be selected from the camera options menu in common video call platforms (such as Teams, Zoom, or similar). When Remote Trainer is chosen as the camera within the video call platform's settings, Remote Trainer is activated on your computer, ready for immediate use.
In desktop mode, the program acts as a virtual video camera, operating entirely locally without transmitting video elsewhere. In this mode, users see precisely the same image that clients would see through the video call platform. Desktop mode is useful for preparing presentations or testing Remote Trainer functionality.
